Yes, that album proved she could convincingly do modern pop. But her songs are uniquely her, which is uniquely feminine. This is why Ryan Adams covering that album was so appealing and:or important. And if you don’t like pitchfork reviewing that version instead of hers, you should have already known that pitchfork is a bunch of edgy snobs.
